Ophthalmic Technician | Nemours | Milford, DE
Full-time Ophthalmic Technician position available in the Nemours Health
Clinic in Milford.
- PROVIDES ANCILLARY SUPPORT TO PROFESSIONAL STAFF BY ASSISTING STAFF
OPTOMETRISTS AND OPHTHALMOLOGISTS WITH PATIENT CARE. IN ADDITION THE
TECHNICIAN MUST PROVIDE AUXILIARY TESTS ON PATIENTS AS REQUIRED.
- OBTAINS MEDICAL HISTORY FROM PATIENT
- TAKE BLOOD PRESSURE AND PULSE ON PATIENT
- PERFORM AUXILIARY TESTING AS APPLICABLE OR INSTRUCTED BY ATTENDING
DOCTOR
- ASSIST WITH POST OPERATIVE PATIENT CARE
- PERFORM CHAIRSIDE ASSISTING WHEN NECESSARY
- GREET PATIENTS AND DIRECT PATIENT FLOW
- DEMONSTRATE ACCEPTABLE ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY RECORD
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/G.E.D.
- HIGH LEVEL OF COMPETENCY IN AN OPHTHALMIC ENVIRONMENT
- TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING IN AN ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
POSITION IN OPHTHALMOLOGY OR OPTOMETRY, OR ONE YEAR WORK EXPERIENCE AND
JCAHPO CERTIFICATION AS AN OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT (COA), OR OPTOMETRIC
ASSISTANT (OA).
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT HEALTH CARE PROVIDER CARD, OR OBTAIN ONE WITHIN ONE
MONTH OF EMPLOYMENT
- DEMONSTRATE EFFECTIVE HUMAN RELATIONS AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
